Lexcel

Lexcel stands for Legal Excellence and is a nationally accredited award of excellence in legal practice awarded by the Law Society to law firms who meet a very exacting criteria and can demonstrate exceptional client care, support and development of their staff and the effective management of risk throughout the firm.

Fosters' first audit took place in February 2014 and we are proud to continue to be Lexcel accredited. As part of the process our auditor met with a number of staff across all branches, undertook a review of our files, both opened and closed, reviewed our central working documents and our approach to client care. His view was that staff were loyal, committed and keen for the firm to succeed and that the firm as a whole had achieved a very good result particularly given the relatively short time frame in which this had been achieved.

Our first Formal accreditation was awarded by the Law Society on 12 May 2014. We are extremely proud to have achieved this accreditation and feel that it is a reflection of Fosters' high standards and commitment to both our clients and staff and will provide reassurance and confidence to those clients using Fosters' services for the first time.

360 Legal Group

360 Legal Group

Local Law Firm of the Year 2013

Fosters Solicitors, which has offices across Norfolk and Suffolk has scooped the title Local Law Firm of the Year at a prestigious legal conference and awards dinner.

The law firm was announced as the winner of the award category, by the 360 Legal Group, at its annual dinner on Thursday October 3rd which took place at The Belfry, near Birmingham.

It is the fourth year that Bristol based 360 Legal Group, which helps law firms across the UK manage and market their practices more successfully as businesses, has held the awards to find and recognise practices of all sizes who are not only adapting but also responding to the fast changing conditions facing the legal profession and the difficult economic climate they are facing.

The Judges were looking for clear evidence of legal expertise and service delivery designed to meet the needs of the local community together with a willingness to engage with the local community and Fosters Solicitors clearly demonstrated their commitment to the local community.

There was a lot of competition for this award, but what made Fosters stand out from the rest was the variety of different ways in which they work within their locality. The firm runs a Mock Trials programme in local schools as part of their citizenship programmes and offers internships to University of East Anglian law students. It has also teamed up with one of the strongest local brands, Norwich City Football Club, by becoming official legal partner to the club with a long term strategy to develop joint brand awareness, in launching specific offers to season ticket holders.

Whilst the firm had in mind exploring fresh opportunities to generate new work in these difficult economic times, they quickly came to realise that one of their greatest strengths lay in being local. The firm which has been based in its local Norwich community since 1761 has invested considerable time and effort in identifying, engaging and enhancing existing relationships within the community.

Presenting the award, Viv Williams, Chief Executive of 360 Legal Group said: "This firm has demonstrated how caring for local people from all backgrounds and all types of local businesses has been a key to success".

Stephen Green, Partner at Fosters Solicitors, said: "Our firm is delighted to receive this award, which acknowledges our long-term commitment to providing top quality legal advice in an accessible local setting".
