| Legal Expenses Insurance (commonly
called LEI) is usually attached to another insurance
policy, eg house contents or motor insurance, although
it can be purchased on a ‘stand alone’ basis.
|
 |
| Most people are unaware that they
have it as it is usually in the small print of their
policies. It is sometimes called by other names, eg
Family Legal Protection (FLP) or Legal Assistance. |
 |
| Provided your insurer believes there
is a claim, they will pay your costs for you although
some areas of law, eg divorce and libel, are excluded. |
 |
| Some insurers will tell you that
you have to use the solicitor that they appoint for
you. Whilst there is no automatic right to choose, we
will negotiate with the insurers on your behalf. |
