Chris Brown, Head of the Crime and Defence Department and a Partner at Fosters Solicitors in Norwich has received the award and is now able to represent clients in criminal proceedings at all stages of their case including the Crown Court.
Historically, a solicitor would represent their client in the Magistrates Court and instruct a Barrister for the Crown Court proceedings. However, if a solicitor is granted the Higher Rights of Audience Qualification he can continue to represent his client at all stages of the Crown Court proceedings.
Fosters Managing Partner, Andrew Saul said: "Chris has become known as one of the most experienced advocates in Norfolk. He always works hard to get the best results for his clients however difficult matters may look when they first meet him. This recognition will enable him to provide a seamless service to our clients by representing them at all stages of their case."
Chris is the second solicitor at Fosters to receive such an award. In 2006 Damien Moore, a Senior Associate within the firm, was granted the Higher Rights of Audience - All Proceedings Qualification. This award permits Damien to undertake advocacy and represent clients in all the Higher Courts in Criminal and Civil proceedings.
