Recycling Effort

Being green with Fosters

Climate change is emerging as one of the great challenges for modern society. Despite decades of research, important things remain uncertain, but much is now established beyond reasonable doubt.

The basic mechanics of climate change are well understood; the world is warming, much of the warming is due to human emissions of greenhouse gases, and the changes are set to accelerate in the future, bringing many and varied impacts around the world.

That's why, here at Fosters we are taking positive steps to reduce our "Carbon Footprint" by educating and encouraging our staff to help us with this topical issue, not just from a works place point of view but to reduce their own carbon Footprint within their own homes also. We are putting in to place recycling systems and reducing energy previously wasted by electrical items/equipment not in use and left on. The process will be on going and the result will take time to produce, but we are positive about the big changes and impact we can make.

How Fosters are being green

  • Norfolk County Council Enviro Report to identify where we are doing well and where we need to improve.
  • Using Business Link to help identify other areas we can improve on.
  • Recycling kitchen waste such as, tea bags, cardboard, glass and tins.
  • Recycling company cardboard waste.
  • Contacting companies who send through advertising literature, such as information for training courses, to contact us by email only.
  • Regular recycling meetings with Recycling officers in most departments to identify what needs to change and improving staff awareness.
  • Recycling all confidential waste with the aim to recycle all paper waste in the future.
  • Switching off lights in kitchens, toilets & interview rooms when not is use.
  • Turning of the computers monitors when not in use.
  • Think before you print logo on all emails sent.
