Grassroots Hero competition opens for 2023-24!
We are excited to be launching for the second season our competition, the Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Grassroots Hero Award.
We are again looking to celebrate those who go above and beyond for their grassroots football club, as well as offering the chance of a team winning a brand-new Macron kit for the 2024-25 season.
Last year, we were delighted to showcase Billy Simper as the inaugural winner, who was nominated by his club AFC Lynn as their Grassroots Hero for his personal drive and commitment in growing the club from its establishment in 2016.
For the judges, Billy epitomised what this competition is about, which is giving Anglian Combination Football League clubs the opportunity to showcase the many volunteers and staff members dedicating their time and energy to their grassroots team in Norfolk and Suffolk.
As well as Billy being named the Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Grassroots Hero, AFC Lynn were presented with a brand-new Macron kit for this season, courtesy of Fosters Solicitors and the league’s kit and equipment partners, Macron Store Norwich.

So again for 2023-24, we want to hear about your Grassroots Hero!
We want to learn about an unsung person who does so much behind the scenes at your club and who you think deserves to be the Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Grassroots Hero.
To apply and nominate your team’s Grassroots Hero, please send either a written application of no more than 750 words with a photograph of your nominee, or a video clip to grassroots@fosters-solicitors.co.uk by 23:59 on Friday 29th March 2024.
Within your application, please provide the full name of your team and your nominee, detailing why you think they should win the award and provide examples of what they do for your club that sets them apart.
This competition is open to all 94 Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination teams, across all seven divisions, with the winner to be announced in mid-April. Please find enclosed full terms and conditions here, but if you have any further questions, please contact grassroots@fosters-solicitors.co.uk
Fosters Solicitors became title sponsors of the Anglian Combination Football League in 2021, further cementing the firm’s ties with local football, having also been the official legal partner of both Norwich City Football Club and Lowestoft Town Football Club for over 12 years.
With the Anglian Combination looking to celebrate its 60th year next season, the league currently comprises a total of 94 teams participating across seven divisions. With a competition boundary of 50 miles from the centre of Norwich, the league consists of teams from across Norfolk and Suffolk.
