Community and Event News: December 2023

Throughout the year, Fosters Solicitors hosts and attends a variety of events in association with our business and community partners, as well as undertaking activities to support the well-being of our colleagues and our wider local community network.

Here is a selection of events and activities our colleagues took part in across December 2023.

Festive networking

We were delighted to be invited by Norwich Theatre to attend their Christmas network lunch. Our Finance Manager, Louise MacCorquodale joined Will Hoy and Hephzibah Ayuba from our Communications team at the event, alongside other fellow Norwich Theatre Corporate Members. We are in our second year of membership with the theatre, which provides a great number of exclusive benefits for us to share with our colleagues – as well as us helping support local arts.

Partnership festivities

Our Partners, Chris Fielding and David Gabell, with trainee solicitors, Taylor Walding and Tyler Clayton, represented the firm at the Norwich City Football Club Partners’ Christmas Party at Bond in the city to start the festive period and mark another year of partnership and collaboration.

Festive Knit Day

Our colleagues from across all three of our branches, put on their Christmas jumpers and festive outfits to help raise money for our charity of the year, Norfolk and Waveney Mind.

Christmas gift collection

Our very own Frosty the snowman oversaw our annual Christmas charity collection, which this year saw our colleagues gather a great selection of festive treats and gifts for Norfolk County Council’s Life Beyond Care team, to help support 16–25-year-old local care leavers. We also collected some pet food and treats to go to Hallswood Animal Sanctuary.

Mind Charity Choir

Colleagues, Karen Baldwin and Sue Zavanaiu, took part in Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s Christmas choir. After several rehearsals over recent weeks, the choir performed outside Chantry Place in Norwich to help raise awareness and funds for the local mental health charity.

NCFC Community Hero

This month’s Fosters Solicitors Community Heroes were Ronnie Moulton and Sue Quantrill, nominated by the Community Sports Foundation. The pair both volunteer at the Foundation and are an integral part of the community work the charity does. Ronnie and Sue are pictured bringing out the match ball ahead of the Canaries’ fixture against Sheffield Wednesday at Carrow Road.

Norwich Theatre backstage access

We were delighted for a group of our colleagues to be invited for a behind the scenes tour of Norwich Theatre Royal. As part of our corporate membership, we were able to see panto props and tread the boards!

Final dress down day of the year

Our final day of fundraising for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, as our 2023 charity of the year took place. We have been working with the charity for two years, undertaking a number of fundraising activities, as well as utilising their mental health training services. In total we managed to raise a wonderful £5,300!
