The Legal 500 assesses the strength of law firms in over 100 jurisdictions, for over 29 years and is based on the feedback received from 250,000 clients worldwide.

Fosters Solicitors LLP have been recognised in 11 areas of work with ‘leading individuals’, ‘recommended lawyers’ and ‘next generation lawyers’.

Published annually, The Legal 500 is regarded as a key guide for clients in choosing their Law Firm. The 2019 results have noted a total of 16 of our lawyers receiving personal recognition and recommendations for their individual skills and expertise.

Crime – Fraud

Leading Individual – Chris Brown

Led by Chris Brown, leading individual and recognised as the top lawyer for East Anglia, we are proud to also have Damien Moore defending clients to the highest standards within our Fraud department.

Crime – General

Leading Individual – Damien Moore

Our Crime department have been noted as having “a stellar reputation for defending criminal cases both in East Anglia and nationwide.” Its cases include the acquittal of nurses charged with assault at large NHS hospitals, care homes and mental health institutions.

Chris Brown, Head of our Crime & Defence department, has been noted as a “leading light in the market”, while higher court advocate, Damien Moore, has been noted as a leading individual in East Anglia.

Corporate and Commercial

Our Corporate and Commercial department has been marked as “a corporate and commercial team that is closely entwined with its dispute resolution practice”. Partner and Head of our Commercial department, Jamie Arnall, whose previously experience includes roles as senior legal counsel at Thomas Cook and head of legal at Norwich City Football Club, is also recommended for contractual and regulatory matters.

Commercial Litigation

Our dispute resolution practice has been recognised as having “an experienced bench of talent”. With Chris Fielding recommended and recognised for his “a strong track record in pursuing and defending claims in the High Court and County Court in relation to financial matters, goods and services, insolvency, intellectual property rights, land cases and contentious probate.”

Personal Injury

Stephen Green leads the Personal Injury department, an Association of Personal Injury Lawyers senior litigator who has been on the Law Society Personal Injury Panel for more than 20 years.

The firm is now on the panel of Headway and the Spinal Injury Association, and is part of the Injury Consortium at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Our five-lawyer practice has a “regular flow of industrial disease, product liability and stress at work claims”. Barry Grogan and Lynn Satchell are also recommended.

Clinical Negligence

Next Generation Lawyer – David Gabell

Stephen Green leads the practice and has more than 20 years’ experience in medical negligence claims against hospitals, GPs and the Ambulance Service. Fosters has experienced growth with the hire of “highly-rated associate and APIL-accredited litigator”, David Gabell, who brings specialist expertise in gynaecology, fertility, orthopaedic and general surgery claims. David has also been recognised as a “Next Generation Lawyer” for the second year. Solicitor Barry Grogan is also recommended.

Lucy Simpson leads the practice, which calls upon the experience of Iain McClay, who has 27 years’ experience in family law.

Newly promoted partner Clare Sharpe has been recognised as a “Next Generation Lawyer”, regularly representing parents in private and public law children matters including those with an international element.

Our team is noted as “excellent and good value for money” with senior associate Rachel Chiarotti recommended.
