Fosters hosts mock trial competition

For the second year running Fosters has been delighted to sponsor the UEA Law Society’s Mock Trial Competition.

The competition is one of several events the student body organises to develop undergraduates’ skills, in this case by replicating the courtroom experience. Participants are encouraged to build an approach to advocacy, to hone legal research skills and consider the application of legal concepts to specific ‘real life’ type scenarios.

Several of our colleagues have been involved this year from across the firm, offering guidance and judging both the semi-final and final competition rounds.

Fosters’ partner and Training Principal Chris Fielding commented: “We partner well with the UEA Law School and boast a number of alumni in our ranks. This competition brings us into direct contact with bright, committed students, many of whom will be ones to watch as they make the transition to professional lawyers.

“Hosting the finals at the Norwich head office, where all competitors showed some real flair, gave them an insight into life inside a busy regional firm and reminds us how important it is to have such a first rate university right in our midst. We look forward to hosting the winners again later in the year when they join us for work experience.”
