Fosters ranked as Legal 500 Top Tier Firm

Fosters has been ranked as a Top Tier firm for East Anglia in The Legal 500 2021 UK rankings, with our Chief Executive and Head of Crime and Defence Chris Brown, and colleague Damien Moore listed as Leading Individuals.

For over 30 years The Legal 500 has been annually analysing the capabilities of law firms across the world, including in the UK – assessing their strengths in over 150 jurisdictions and producing rankings based upon research using feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms and interviews with leading private practice lawyers.

This year Fosters has been listed in 15 practice categories, including three for the first time, and has had a number of lawyers highlighted for special mention.

Our crime and defence practice are highlighted as Top Tier in both the Crime: Fraud and Crime: General categories.

We are noted for frequently being involved in high-profile cases, including the representation of a hacker in matters of domestic and international cryptocurrency fraud, which was the first in the UK to result in a POCA auction of the currency. Practice head Chris Brown and Higher Court Advocate Damien Moore often appear before the Crown Courts in fraud and regulatory matters, and they act on behalf of professional bodies, notably in the healthcare, banking and sporting sectors.

Fosters in Norwich ‘demonstrates the highest levels of professionalism yet with sympathy and empathy’. ‘I really felt they were on my side and devoted to my cause,’ remarks one client. Handling high-profile and complex cases such as historic allegations of rape and county lines drug conspiracies, as well as minor crimes, the firm has established itself as a leading firm in Norfolk and beyond. ‘Persistent and diligent’ practice head Chris Brown and Higher Court Advocate Damien Moore are the lead partners.

Testimonials

‘I spoke to a number of different firms before choosing Fosters. What led me to go with Fosters in the end was that the firm demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism yet with sympathy and empathy. Everyone at the firm that I dealt with was professional, interested and compassionate. I really felt they were on my side and devoted to my cause.’

‘They supported me in my barrister options and choices. They vetted the barristers I was keen on and in the end I felt the decision taken on the barrister was one that was mutually agreed by myself and them.’

‘All members of my team were good-humoured and likeable which was a major factor.’

Commenting on The Legal 500 listings, Chris Brown said: “The crime and business defence team at Fosters has now consistently been recognised at a regional and national level. We are delighted once again to be regarded amongst the very best firms in the country not only for our general crime work, but also for our work in the fraud field. For both the team – and for both solicitor advocates to also receive personal recognition as ‘Leaders in the Field’ – it is a demonstration of our commitment to excellence from first contact to conclusion of case.”
