Supporting families bereaved by suicide

Members of our Wills, Trusts & Probate team have recently undertaken training provided by the Rosedale Funeral Home, aimed at supporting those bereaved by suicide.

Department head Lisa Glynne, Chartered Legal Executive Louise Gibbs-Kneller, solicitors Lauren Crosby and Charlotte Ranson, and personal assistant Karen Hollyhead all participated and found this training invaluable.

Charlotte Ranson explains: “The virtual workshop supported very open and constructive dialogue about what can be a very difficult and painful situation for families.

“We explored how being bereaved through suicide may differ from other types of bereavement, and how those grieving their loss may be feeling.

“This training has really helped our team improve and build on our knowledge, skills, empathy and understanding around this subject matter, and be better able to support those finding themselves in this situation – including knowing when and where to signpost for additional support.”

Our team here at Fosters helps support both individuals and families with the administration of a person’s estate after they have passed away. We want to make getting access to expert legal help as easy as possible, at what can be such an emotionally difficult time.
