Throughout the year, Fosters Solicitors hosts and attends a variety of events in association with our business and community partners, as well as undertaking activities to support the well-being of our colleagues and our wider local community network.

Here we take a look at the events and activities our colleagues took part in during February 2024.

Shortlisted in British Conveyancing Awards

We were delighted to be shortlisted in this year’s British Conveyancing Awards.

The firm is a finalist in the Conveyancing Firm of the Year – Midlands category, with the winner to be announced at an awards ceremony on the 12th March.

National Apprenticeship Week 2024

We marked the 17th annual National Apprenticeship Week, by highlighting the recent introduction of apprenticeships to the firm and also our four current apprentices who are working across our practice areas.

Congratulations Chris!

Chris Turner, our Associate and Deputy Head of Personal Injury, was recognised as a brain injury specialist solicitor by Headway, the brain injury association.

Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services.

Chris, alongside his colleague and Head of Personal Injury, Steve Green, has now been appointed to the charity’s prestigious solicitor’s panel – extending Fosters Solicitors representation and making us one of the few firms in East Anglia to achieve such recognition.

Another award accolade!

Huge congratulations to our Wills, Trusts & Probate team who have been shortlisted for Best Regional Probate Law Firm at the Probies 2024, which take place on 18th April.

Charity nominates fundraiser as Community Hero

At Norwich City’s match with Watford, David Holliday was chosen as our Community Hero by the club’s matchday charity partner, It’s On the Ball.

It’s On The Ball are a testicular cancer support group and a registered charity based in Norwich, providing support to patients and their families, whilst raising awareness of the disease.

David has been one of the charity’s most successful individual fundraisers for many years and is passionate about raising awareness of testicular cancer.

Grassroots Hero Award launch

We were excited to launch for the second season our competition, the Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Grassroots Hero Award.

We are again looking to celebrate those who go above and beyond for their grassroots football club, as well as offering the chance of a team winning a brand-new Macron kit for the 2024-25 season.

Lowestoft Pancake Race

Well done to our two Lowestoft pancake race teams, ‘Get Crackin’ and ‘The Crepe Escape’ who braved a chilly Lowestoft High Street to take part in the Discover Lowestoft annual event!

Lots of flipping fun was had – well done to all those involved and congratulations to overall winners Paul Hubbard Estate Agents!

Loveday and Partners – Age UK

Colleagues attended a recent networking event held by local financial advisers, Loveday & Partners, which gave an opportunity to hear from charity, Age UK.

Women in Wills

Paige Gouldthorpe, our Deputy Head of Wills, Trusts & Probate, has been confirmed as the new Chair for the national networking group Women in Wills.

Women in Wills was founded in 2017 by Karen Babington as a personal and professional support network for women working in the private client sector, and has grown to a membership of over 1500 people across the country.

Paige has also been confirmed as a Trustee for the Norfolk & Norwich Festival.

Well done Louise!

Congratulations to our Wills, Trusts & Probate colleague, Louise Gibbs-Kneller who has recently completed and passed the STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation.

STEP is a professional body with over 21,000 practitioner members world-wide and champions continuous learning and development to uphold best practice in the industry.

This particular qualification demonstrates Louise’s competence and expertise in Will drafting, and compliance with the STEP will writing code of practice.
